damn, here I was, about to open up GW for the first time in years, and my account is gone. or at the least I can't get to it. I mean I'm going to try and recover it obviously, but what are the chances that if I do any of my characters are still intact? think that emerald i got right before I quit is still there?

damn i'm almost sort of sad thinking of the countless hours I spent on my characters to get the to look all pretty and what not... i was hoping on having this account around for GW2.

anyone else get hacked care to share any advice on what to do exactly? it looks like my spam filter caught the NCSoft emails alerting me to my account's password being reset...weak.

well I'm waiting for support to respond, and I just posted here in case someone else had any advice on what to do. and I know exactly what my p/w was and my character names.

k well it might take you awhile to get ur pass back( you know what they say about ppl working on fridays and mondays) and the team hasnt been as quick as of late( tho thats b/c they were cut almost in half the numbers).

so just sit back, and keep clicking your refresh button on your email for the next week ;p

Several people were hacked recently, two of my guild mates were. Chances are, you lost your ectos and everlasting tonics (my guild mates did) but your character and his/her armor (for both of my guild mate's accounts) were still there.

Sorry that had to happen. As Shayne already mentioned, the only thing you can do is contact support (which you seem to have done). If your situation is not out of the ordinary, I'd say expect 4-10 days for them to get it all sorted out. As for whatever is on your account, I wouldn't expect it to be there. There's no sense in getting your hopes up; if your account was breached, the person probably took what they could.

In the meantime, obviously scan your computer for any sort of sneaky applications like keyloggers. Once you get your account sorted out, change your passwords and emails to something unique and strong.

From one guildie to another, if everything is gone, you'll be surprised at how quick you get over it. The initial shock is there, and the itching to hear back from aNet, but it's just stuff. I wish you the best of luck in getting everything back in one piece.
